About the article: DeepSeek restricts access to its services due to heavy pressure
Many users have been experiencing significant difficulties accessing DeepSeek’s AI models over the past few days. According to a notice posted on the company’s official website, DeepSeek confirmed that these issues were caused by the heavy pressure on its servers, due to the high demand for its services, which forced it to temporarily restrict access to them.

As a result, DeepSeek also announced that it would temporarily stop recharging API credits. As such, users who have run out of credit will not be able to add more credits to their accounts until the company returns to normal. However, those who have available credit can use it without any restrictions, and the company justified these measures as being in order to “maintain the stability of the service.”

DeepSeek did not specify a specific date for the full restoration of its services, leaving users in a state of anticipation until the problem is resolved.

It is worth noting that this is not the first time DeepSeek has encountered server-related issues; When it first launched, the company was hit by a coordinated DDoS attack, which aims to flood servers with massive amounts of commands to disable them, forcing DeepSeek to temporarily restrict new user registrations.

This time, the problem seems different; it is not caused by a cyberattack, but rather by the huge demand for the company’s services, as its AI models are widely popular due to their unique training methods, efficiency, and competitive prices.

DeepSeek relies on the distillation method instead of using raw data as traditional models do, which makes it more efficient and less resource-intensive. The company previously stated that it spent only $6 million on training its model, but a recent report indicated that the real figure could be $1.6 billion, a far cry from the figure the company announced.

So far, there is no clear timeframe for resolving these issues, which means users will have to wait until the company finds sustainable solutions to prevent such crises from recurring in the future.
